Jeremiah's Volunteer Project

It was a successful first day. I mostly observed most of the time until the end of the day and didn’t talk to many people even though I wish I would’ve engaged more, because I think that I what the project is supposed to about me engaging and networking with others, or at least it’s one of my goals. It felt wired sorting through hygiene products today, because I thought that I would be sorting food or painting barrels for food as I’ve done before. I also noticed a map that told me how big of an area this food bank actually serves, 19 counties is a lot. During my shift today I asked other why they were volunteering.  It’s interesting some had noble reasons and others selfish; which was I. was I only doing it for a project or did I actually care about helping people?
