GROUP EVALUATION
During this project, our group's strengths were that we stuck to our timeline and communicated effectively throughout the project. We all had a common goal in mind and we each did our part to make this project a reality. We struggled in the initial stages of the project, in developing a sustainable project platform. Once we got the ball rolling, things seemed to move a lot more smoothly. Our group worked very well together; we each did our part, and adjusted them based on feedback and critiques from other group members.
Lauren’s role was the head communicator and facilitator, so she organized how the project would come together and worked on half of the deliverables for the e-portfolio including the executive summary, SMART goals, action plan, and implementation summary. Jeremiah’s role was to create the framework of the e-portfolio that was to be presented in class; each of our parts would be represented through this final product. Micah’s role was to create the actual training website, which includes the learning content, a video that we made, and quiz/questionnaire portion. Chelsea’s role was to work on the other half of the deliverables that went into the e-portfolio, including the background research, project sustainment, and group evaluation.
We were very successful in meeting our initial goals and timeline. We were able to complete everything a week in advance in order to give ourselves time to review and edit our project. If anything I think we would work more cohesively in all the different aspects of the project, and have tried to even out the workload as much as possible. A few lessons we learned are that having such different personalities allowed us to work together more effectively. We managed to avoid conflict altogether, by taking time to listen to each other and offering feedback when needed. All in all, this experience allowed us to have a more positive view on group projects: everyone did their part, we met all our deadlines, and we never had any reason for conflict. For future practicum III students, we would say respect one another, listen, contribute ideas, and do your respective part in a timely fashion.
